Terms of Service

1. Your Agreement With Riikee

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Riikee’s websites, writing application, AI-assisted writing tools, reminders, statistics, archives, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Riikee is a private writing-practice product designed to help you write regularly. Features may include a distraction-free editor, daily goals, streaks, reminders, Catch Up, archives, writing statistics, exports, and optional AI assistance.

Features, availability, limits, and plan names may change as the Service develops. The current in-product Subscription page is the most up-to-date description of plan limits and benefits.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services, to use Riikee. If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms yourself, a parent or legal guardian must do so for you.

4. Guest Writing

Riikee may let you try the editor without an account. Guest writing is stored in your browser on that device and is not synced to a Riikee account unless the Service expressly offers and you complete a save or sign-in flow.

5. Your Account

Some features, including cloud saving, synchronization, AI tools, statistics, reminders, and subscriptions, require an account. You may register with email and password or a supported social sign-in provider.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information and keeping it current
• Protecting your credentials and devices
• Activity performed through your account
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access

6. Basic, Pro, and Usage Limits

Riikee may offer a free Basic plan and paid Pro plans. Plans can differ in daily practice limits, writing-goal customization, Catch Up availability, export formats, AI request allowances, and other features.

Usage allowances reset according to the rules shown in the Service. Unused allowance does not roll over unless we expressly say otherwise. We may enforce reasonable technical and anti-abuse limits even when a feature is described as unlimited.

7. Billing, Renewal, and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider. By purchasing Pro, you authorize the applicable recurring charge, taxes, and any disclosed fees.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal
• You may cancel from Settings or through the available billing flow
• Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period
• Except where required by law or expressly stated, payments are non-refundable
• If payment fails or a subscription expires, Pro features may become unavailable

8. Your Writing and Ownership

Your writing remains yours. Riikee does not claim ownership of the titles, drafts, practices, or other content you create.

You grant Riikee a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, display to you, back up, and otherwise handle your content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service, provide features you request, and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to backups, retained historical statistics, legal obligations, and the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content and use of the Service do not violate law or another person’s rights.

9. AI-Assisted Writing

Riikee offers optional AI features such as idea generation, outlines, continuations, spelling and expression checks, rewriting, expansion, shortening, tone adjustment, title suggestions, writing advice, and article analysis.

• User-initiated AI tools process the instructions and relevant writing you choose to submit
• If automatic article analysis is enabled, Riikee may analyze eligible saved writing and store structured results such as a summary, topics, genre, tone, or mood
• AI requests may be processed by third-party model and infrastructure providers as described in the Privacy Policy
• AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, offensive, or similar to content generated for others
• Nothing is inserted into or replaces your writing unless you choose to apply it, except for non-editorial metadata created by enabled analysis features

10. Goals, Streaks, Catch Up, and Historical Statistics

Writing goals, streaks, counts, reminders, and insights are motivational product features, not guaranteed records. They depend on account settings, time zone, device time, saved content, and Service availability.

To preserve an honest historical record, Riikee may lock a day’s achieved word count or streak result. Editing or deleting an ordinary historical practice may not change that locked result. If you delete a historical practice, its title and body are removed while limited tombstone data—such as date, deletion time, and locked word count—may remain for historical statistics. An eligible Pro Catch Up practice may update the missed day according to the rules shown in the Service.

11. Writing Reminders and Communications

If you enable writing reminders, Riikee may send messages based on your planned writing time, first reminder, optional second reminder, weekend schedule, language, time zone, and whether the day’s goal appears complete. Delivery times are approximate and are not guaranteed.

We may also send essential account, security, billing, and service messages. You can control optional writing reminders and product updates in Settings or through unsubscribe controls where available.

12. Export, Backups, and Data Loss

Available export formats depend on your plan. Exports may not reproduce every editor style or piece of metadata exactly.

13. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

• Break the law, violate rights, or facilitate harm
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt, probe, or bypass Service security
• Access another person’s account or data without permission
• Abuse AI, reminder, export, or subscription systems or evade usage limits
• Scrape, resell, reverse engineer, or reproduce the Service except where law permits
• Use automated means that place an unreasonable load on the Service

14. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, payments, email delivery, analytics, and AI processing. Your use of social sign-in, payment, and linked third-party services may also be governed by their terms. Riikee is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

15. Riikee’s Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, brand, text other than user content, and other materials, belongs to Riikee or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership of the Service.

16. Suspension, Termination, and Service Changes

You may stop using Riikee or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, address non-payment, or respond to a serious or repeated violation of these Terms.

We may modify, pause, or discontinue features. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice of material changes that significantly reduce paid functionality.

17. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent preservation of content, a particular writing outcome, or the accuracy or suitability of AI output, statistics, reminders, or exports.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Riikee and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost content, profits, revenue, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Riikee during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Riikee changes. We will update the date above and, when required, provide additional notice of material changes. Continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

20. Governing Law and General Terms

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Riikee entity providing the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where consumer law requires otherwise. Any dispute will be handled by a competent court with jurisdiction.

• These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Riikee about the Service
• If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective
• A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver
• You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, or sale
